A GOOD ANTIQUE GEORGE III, SCOTTISH STERLING SILVER TEAPOT STAND or TRAY EDINBURGH 1790. A good, Georgian Scottish Silver Teapot Stand made by Alexander Spence in Edinburgh and dating from c1790.
It is hallmarked on the underside with the maker's mark "AS" for Alexander Spence, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh castle town mark and date letter "K" for 1790/91. The tray on four feet, with decorative engraving to the border and engraved initials to the centre. It measures approximately 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" inches (195mm x 140mm).
