Each dish features a typical gadrooned rim, with the lid featuring an additional border to the top. The handles are among the finest you'll see, with flora and shell motifs featuring prominently in each. The lids are adorned with an impressive coat of arms to one side, with both the bases and lids featuring a matching rooster crest, captioned "WATCH" above. He three individual components of each dish are numbered, with the dishes on offer representing No.Condition is relatively good overall. The lids sit fairly on the base at the right rotation, with some slight lifting evident.
The handles slot in place nicely but move freely. It is likely the bases were lost or damaged sometime in the early 1800's, with the bases and handles commissioned as replacements. The hallmarks are about 80% overall, with the maker wearing to the lids (see photos). The usual scratches and pinpricks are present, commensurate with age and use.
Worth noting is the incredible gauge of silver used in each component of this set. Each dish measures around 28cm x 22cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at a staggering 3,806gms 122.36 tr.
