Antique 18th century Georgian era sterling silver warmer and serving dish with ebony wood handle. This Regency style dish is adorned with gadrooned edges and etched with armorial symbols. Handle is fitted with a silver chain and hook to hold lid open. Wood handle is meant to unscrew so that the hollow base can be filled with hot water.
The heraldic shield is adorned with a cross and the secondary symbol is just under the chain and appears to be a man with scythe. Piece is dated to 1794. Hallmarks: Base is stamped I. S - Lion - Panther w/ Crown - t - King George.

Small ding to lid where it hits the top ring of chain. A couple of tiny chips to tip of wood handle. Minor dings, dents, scuffs, and scrapes to bottom edge of silver.
