ENGLISH STERLING COFFEE POT 1760 JOSEPH BELL II - RARE MAKER A handsome very early George III sterling silver baluster form coffee pot. From the London work shop of Joseph Bell II in 1760. Apprenticed under Richard Hawkins in 1748. Please view the close up of the hallmarks on the shoulder.

Initially, it appears to be B and a smaller upper case E, then a faint I or L following. The E being upper case, but shorter is key to discerning the maker, as it took quite a while to do so. The full maker's mark is I. B E LL and is listed in Grimwade on page 258, Figure 3624 in the Unregistered Marks Section.
