A sterling silver domed lid tankard Date : Hallmarked for James Wilks in London 1759 Period : George II Origin : London, England Decoration : Plain baluster form. Pendant drop hinge with cast thumb piece. Applied spreading foot with double-c handle Size : Height 15.5cms to top of dome. Capacity 7/8ths of a pint with room for the head Condition : Very good, no dings. A short abrasion on the body. The hallmarks below the lid and under the foot are a little rubbed but remain legible Restoration : Professionally cleanes Weight : 455 grams. The black mark on the body in the images is a reflection from the camera shutter. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971.
