This is a beautiful antique sterling silver lidded milk jug or creamer made by Robert Hennell and hallmarked in London 1822. It is in very good condition and made with a thick gauge of silver as you would expect from this excellent Georgian silversmith. There is overall ornate decoration of scrolls, acanthus leaves, flowers etc and the design incorporates two vacant cartouches. It has an ornate finial to the lid and stands firmly on a raised scalloped base.
There is further decoration above and below the spout. Lidded Georgian silver milk jugs are quite rare and this is a particularly lovely piece from this fine silversmith.
