The stand is nicely worked with a formal band of tooling and has an oval within a cartouche on one side for a monogram which is left blank. The cruets are cylinder-shaped and are decorated with the same cutting so probably originated and stayed as a set. The set consists of a salt and pepper shaker, vinegar and oil dispensers, a dry mustard pot and two small cruets, one of which contains a small silver serving spoon. All the caps are of Sterling silver and all bear the same hallmark as the stand.
The bases of the cruets are plain, and sport polished pontil marks. The stand has small dents to one end of the stand but is otherwise in excellent condition, although it would benefit from a professional clean.
There are minute chips to the bases of the cruets and the cut facets and end of the stoppers but no prominent chips, cracks, significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. A particularly clean and pleasing set that would happily grace a modern table.
The set weighs 1.9 Kg. The item "Georgian Sterling silver cruet stand and cruets" is in sale since Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
