Sterling Silver Salvers - Antique Georgian (1817). An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver salvers; part of our tray and salver collection. These exceptional antique George III sterling silver salvers have a plain circular form. The surface of each salver is embellished with a fine and impressive contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-griffin, holding in the dexter claw a sword. The raised swept borders are ornamented with impressive applied gadroon decoration to the rim.
These antique Georgian sterling silver salvers are each supported by three Regency style bracket feet ornamented with scrolling leaf and paw decoration. These antique sterling silver salvers are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and exceptional presentation condition. The applied decoration is very sharp and the bright cut engraved crests are very crisp. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of each salver are all very clear; the makers marks have been double struck and a specific craftsman is therefore indeterminate.Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these pieces of antique Georgian silverware.
