A lovely antique Georgian sterling silver teapot stand made by the famous Hester Batemen and hallmarked in London 1789. It is in very good condition with no repair and just a small and minor ding to the raised rim but hardly noticeable. Oval in shape it bears an impressive coat of arms and further decoration to the body. It has been made with a good gauge of silver and stands firmly on 4 feet.
Hester Bateman was the matriarch of the Bateman family of silversmiths and her items are widely collected. (NB any shadows shown in photographs are merely reflections). Weight 120 gms (4.25 ozs).
