Offered is an estate fresh and charming Georgian/ Regency style English sterling silver bachelor teapot & open sugar basin, in the manner of Paul STORR - England's premier Regency period silversmith. Hallmarked discretely on the shoulders, each bears the leopard head mark for city London, lion passant mark for Sterling silver, date letter Q in shield for 1891, and makers mark for Walter & John Barnard of London. Retailed by Sorley Silversmiths of Glasgow, as stamped on the bottoms. Crafted in the Regecy style, these round shaped pieces are finely detailed and heavy weight with traces of light gilding to interior of sugar basin. They feature cast gadroon & shell rims, and fluted bases. Teapot has wood handle & wood finial detail. Condition: Both pieces have clean interiors and normal surface scratches/ patina/ tarnish commensurate with age and use. Sugar bowl is free of visible dents, however the teapot has multiple tiny dents/bruises primarily in the fluted base area, which we have tried to depict.
