Rare GEORGE II STERLING SILVER SNUFF BOX London 1730 Peter Wirgman. Dimensions: approx 70mm long; 55mm wide; 25mm deep. Eight: 2.19 troy oz (68.3g). Condition: Overall good for its age with some issues worth noting. There is an old solder repair on the inside of the box that is visible on the bottom corner of the box also (see photos 5 & 8).
There are some minor splits and holes to the box, mainly along the seams (see photos). Dings, dents, surface scratches and tarnishing. Gilt interior in good condition considering it is almost 300 years old. Embossed lid and hinge in good condition. Wear commensurate with age and use.
