Superb large mid-18th century George II silver tankard. Baluster form with lower girdle, domed hinged lid and raised footed base. Large scroll handle with crested heart terminal. Lid has heavy hinge, large thumb piece and Latin inscription to dome. Full silver hallmarks to underside of base (pic 10) and underside of lid (pic 11), maker's mark to handle.
