Offered for sale is a superb antique solid silver inkstand. A wonderful quality antique George IV solid sterling silver inkstand hallmarked for London 1824 by Richard Sibley.It has a gadroon border and is stood on four shell, scroll and paw feet. Fitted with two mounted cut-glass inkwells and central taperstick, the conical snuffer on chain attachment. Size - It measures approx 28.5 cm wide x 19.5 cm deep x 13 cm to the top of the snuffer.
The weight of the silver without the glass inkwells is 1251 g or 40 ozt. Condition - The inkstand is in good condition, there are minor marks commiserate with age and some nibbles to the glass inkwells, I think one of the inkwell lids is a replacement.Lacking one silver nut from the bottom, they are by a different maker stamped JR with lion passant.
