A lovely pair of hallmarked sterling silver early George 11 casters/mufineers made by Sam Welder and hallmarked in London 1728. They are in very good condition with beautifully pierced lids with bell finials. No initials or armorials and both casters stand firmly on raised circular bases. The pull off lids fit tightly and are partially hallmarked albeit quite faint on one. The sleeve to one lid is rather longer than the other but when inserted into the body that does not affect the overall height. Both casters are very clearly hallmarked with the date letter N for 1728. A fine pair of casters from this well respected Georgian silversmith. Weight 233 gms (8.25 ozs).
