Two George III silver sugar casters Date : The first with beaded foot hallmarked for Thomas Shepherd the second for John Lambe both in London 1786 Period : George III Origin : London, England Decoration : The Shepherd example has a spiral finial and beaded foot Size : Both 15.5cm tall Condition : Good, one does not sit perfectly flat on the table. Restoration : None Weight : 172 grams (5.5 troy ounces). A happy marriage of two sugar casters, different makers but both made in London in 1786. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971.
